I've Changed My Party and Now I'm an Ass

I remember when I was a Republican.  I remember when I thought being an elephant was cool and I puffed my chest out and proclaimed "I am a Republican...of course!"  But every since that wackadoo George W. Bush was in office, I have to admit, I am a little less ...well, puffed out.  I actually changed my party *looking over my shoulder*  My grandpa Burge was the House Whip in the Ohio State House of Representatives.  He was a leader of the Republican Party!  My father was the Head of the Republican Precinct in Lorain County...WE WERE REAL TRUE, VOTED-IN REPUBLICANS....

Problem is, today's Republican Party is not the same party as yesteryear.  Today's Republican Party is more concerned with blocking what the Democrats are doing and "getting their way" than they are with moving this Country forward.  The Republican party has gone from a Good 'ol Boys club...errrr.. I mean, the Grand Old Party to a party that is being led around by gun toting, uneducated wackadoos from Alaska who got their Masters in foreign policy from Walmart's binocular department.

I think that McCain was the Republican Party's last best effort at a respectable candidate.  I mean Mitt Romney tied his dog to the roof of his car.  Hello?  Let's take the "cruelty to animals" piece out of the picture and just deal with how dumb this man must be to think that tying a living, breathing being to the roof of a moving vehicle is a good idea.  Um, and his wife can't be all that bright either to let it all happen.  This family is not playing with a full deck, AT ALL.  Let's not even begin speaking about Mitt and his income and taxes paid.  Don't get me wrong, he is probably within the "tax laws," but this guy probably owes more favors to more higher ups than McDonald's at a Realtor's convention.

Then they have Newt.  "Repeated adultery with younger women, while each successive wife was seriously ill --- and all along Newt was proclaiming himself a champion of family values.  Attacking mortgage lender Freddie Mac, while secretly getting paid $1.6 million as a lobbyist for them – and claiming he was a "historian," not a lobbyist...A half-million charge account at Tiffany's Jewelers for his latest, youngest woman (that we know of)." I know many "birthers" are very concerned with President Obama being born in the United States but it was President Bush's family who has/had ties to Osama Bin Laden, not Obama.  I'd take someone POSSIBLY (but not really) born in another country over my President having ties to a terrorist any day.  (If you didn't know, President George W. Bush's family has had ties with the Bin Ladens since the 1970's.  "On the morning of the 9/11 terrorist attacks -- George Herbert Bush met with Osama Bin Laden’s own brother at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington D.C.

I'll take a guy (possibly) born in another country over a President making oil deals with "terrorists" any day. But hey, that's me.

Thing is I don't believe that all Republicans have lost their minds, I think there are many of them that still just want to keep their hard earned money in their pockets and not help anyone else who isn't will to help themselves.  I mean there are a ton of people out there on welfare who have fake nails and cell phones that make us all sick, not just Republicans!  But the problem is that EVERY Republican that you and I know will NOT be helped by ANY of the laws or programs that THESE Republicans want to pass.  We don't know ANYONE that is wealthy enough to even be able to WATCH them enjoy those tax breaks.

Thing is, Republicans keep throwing around those scary words like "Socialism" and "Communist" and I am pretty sure they have ABSOLUTELY ZERO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!  They get sucked into Fox News and glom onto a sound bite here, and a blurb there and RUN WITH IT!!  We aren't loosing America, we aren't going to become a country where we all make the same amount of money and we aren't loosing our health care system.. ENOUGH of the scare tactics.

I think that the Republican Party was a whole lot better before Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.  I think that when the Republican Party walked a line of Pro-American, Pro-AMERICANS ideals, they were a lot more enticing.  Now it seems they have their foot on the head of anyone not shoving twenties in their pockets claiming to be the "upper class."  Hey, dip shits you are so far from the upper class and your buddies that you are voting into office can barely keep a straight face watching you believe that you are!!

It is not my goal to change any one's mind, I just wish that people would stop watching that hate-filled, fear-monger, soundbite Fox News.  I can't imagine that there is anything more detrimental to your health than filling your ears with people focused on nothing but what is wrong with no plan to fix anything, oh, except to vote out Obama.  Perhaps Fox News should spend their time finding a candidate that isn't an embarrassment to the Republican Party...but then again, where those folks are swinging their elephant trunk these days, makes us jackasses look pretty darn conservative, at least we keep our dogs in the car.
