Mad Moms in Minivans....HERE

So many time we think we are the only one.  The only one that wants friends, cause everyone else has them.  The only one that has a kid that barfs all over them, cause everyone else's kid is perfect.  The only one that is neurotic about loosing weight, cause everyone else has lost it.  You get my point... And today a wonderful woman stopped by and brought Emersyn and Brock some beautiful gifts and me, a nice big dose of "IT'S NOT JUST YOU!"

As we began to talk (after her morning jog) I sat there thinking about how I needed to "lose the weight" and she started telling me how she started working out too early after her baby and that it is better to just wait. HUH?  Then we discussed Brock's constant throwing up and how it is driving me wacko...and then she told me how her baby STILL does the same thing, HUH?  Then we talked about making friends with people with babies and how she wants more friends as well...HUH?

YOU MEAN IT'S NOT JUST ME?  YOU HAVE THESE ISSUES AS WELL?? HUH??!!

So it seems that I am not the only one in my boat.  I am not the only one that is struggling to make everything work.  How is that possible?  I thought I was the only one that can't figure out WHEN to blow dry my hair...and here she is sitting at my kitchen table attempting to schedule WHEN to do her hair today.  Really??  I thought it was just me who loves my minivan, and as I walk her out to her SUV I see she has recently purchased a van as well, AND LOVES IT...REALLY!

So I'm not the only one dealing with babies, and fat and vans and friends.  It seems that there are others out there, just like me.  It seems that if I just start opening up to women doing the same things that I am doing, I will find out that I am completely normal.  I will find out Brock is normal and Emersyn is normal and that not fitting into my clothes yet, is normal.

I think the best thing we can do is find people like "us," whatever that means at the time.  I think we need to realize that if we just spend more time with people in the same boat, we will quickly realize that we are not alone and that we are just like every other lonely, non-cooking, van-driving, crazy-haired mom on Earth....trying our best to make it all work.

Now about this crazy hair.....
