Is it ok to Throw-up Blood? Just wondering?

By the afternoon, Brock started to enter a sort-of zen-like state when under the lights.  The doctors added an additional light under his back which made his stay much warmer, and obviously, much more comfortable for him.  We fared another night, got up, watched Brock give more blood via his heel and went down to breakfast to wait for the results.

As we made our way back to Brock's room I noticed the nurse carrying the "wallaby" light back to the nurses' station.  "Is that good news that you are taking that away?" I asked her from down the hall.  She turned and smiled and said "yes, his number is 10.9!"  As the relief lowered my shoulders and untied the knot in my stomach, a smile lit up Jim's face.  We went in Brock's room to find him without sunglasses and without the lights.  Victory!!

We quickly packed up our stuff, waited for our discharge information and made our way home.

When we got home I started to become more and more concerned about the blood mixed with breast milk that Brock was barfing up.  In the hospital they told us that it was very common for breastfed babies to have this issue, if the mother was still adjusting to breastfeeding (which I was).  But when we got home the blood started to look quite a bit different.  It went from "mixed with the milk" to splashes of blood throughout the milk.  So Jim and I started to worry and Jim began using Google...big mistake.

I knew better.

We had a doctor visit scheduled for the next day and I figured if he was bleeding internally he wouldn't die before the next day at 2:30?!

We went to the doctor's and Jim met me there.  I am not 100% sure he trusts me with these kids?  The doctor told us that she wasn't worried about it at all and that she was completely confident that the blood was coming from me. That makes me feel better?  So we took our blood-spitting infant home and prayed she was right.

Since then Brock has stopped throwing up blood and he is no longer TOTALLY yellow.  He has regained all of his lost weight and is changing every day.  It has been a long process over these last 13 days and I still do not have the hang of four kids...yet.  I am able to shower as he sits in his bouncy chair but have not mastered making dinner.

He is not allowed in a pool for six months, nor is he allowed to wear sunblock so we will venture to the pool today and see how this goes?  I think my biggest challenge is figuring out how to make sure Emersyn has fun and Brock still gets fed.  He is eating every two hours and then it is 30 minutes of gas, poop and burping...and then 90 minutes later he is eating again.  Not to conducive to going ANYWHERE OR DOING ANYTHING BUT FEEDING THIS BABY!!!

But I will figure it out.  It is just a matter of being smarter than a 14 yr old, 12 yr old, 2 1/2 yr old and 13 day old...I got this...I hope?
