Ville Philly Willits...HUH?
We never tell anyone, even our kids, the names that we have picked out for the unborn baby. I learned when choosing names for Cody that when you tell people the names you have "in the running," everyone has something to say. One person may like the name you have chosen, whereas another person might say, "I knew a really mean guy named Brutus," and then you have that sticking in your mind.
So after Cody was born and named, I made the decision that I would never tell anyone my names again until the child is named, I mean, what are they going to say to you then? Hopefully....
So I have my name all set if the baby is a girl. But, we are really all over the place on the boy's name and we can't ask any one's opinion. I mean what if I ask some one's opinion and they tell me something I don't want to hear?
Cody and Skylar want to name the baby Ville! Pronounced Vill-E after Ville Leino of the Philadelphia Flyers. Oh, and Jim likes the name to! Yeah, not so much! I can hear it now...Ville Willie or then my sister said Ville Manilli and then concluded with Philly Ville Willie!!! OH MY GOSH!!! I mean you have to think of these things!!
So Jim and I are on our own for the names but it is not going to be Ville, not if I am still alive to sign the birth certificate. God willing.
So, since it is just us...what do you think about the names....never mind, Jim would kill me if I cracked now. I guess we will have to wait and see what he or she looks like, maybe that will help us decide.

We waited with all our kids until we saw them. Had names in our minds and the funny thing is they all ended up with NOT the name we intended. All 3 kids' names also ended up ending with the letter N. Something my late grandmother noticed, so we joke if we have #4 we will also have the added pressure on an N ending name or I'll have to pay for the therapy bills1 :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny. We have all three with a Y in their names. So there is the pressure on us to have a Y in this one's name. How do we do this to ourselves?
