Osama Bin Laden is dead, Now Let's Focus.

Osama Bin Laden is dead.  It is better then when we saw the Wicked Witch of the East's shoes curl up under Dorothy's house, in The Wizard of Oz.  We are free of his hatred and anger and terrorism.  Or are we?  Did we, like in The Wizard of Oz , just create a worse enemy?  Have we now merely unleashed the Wicked Witch of the West, who is now really, really mad we killed her sister?

Sure we finally killed the man our country has been searching for for TEN years.  Sure we killed the man who master-minded 9/11. Sure we killed the most hated, wanted man in the world, but now we get to deal with all of his underlings.

I did not lose one person in 9/11.  I wasn't there, and I have no idea what it was like, and is like, for the thousands of people and families 9/11 affected and still affects.  But, I have a difficult time putting on my happy face and dancing in the streets because we kill a 54 year old terrorist on dialysis?  Has Bin Laden actually been that instrumental in the terrorist community recently? Or have we been looking for revenge?

I am in no way taking away our American victory.  I am in no way taking away from the Navy Seals that risked their lives during the operation to take down Bin Laden.  What I am merely saying is...LET'S NOT BE SO QUICK TO CELEBRATE.  Let's be realistic in our celebrations and not shake our hips to quickly to the music of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead."

It would be no different if someone assassinated our President.  Our country would go on, we would just be angrier and looking for revenge.  America wouldn't miss a beat, and neither will the terrorists who followed Osama Bin Laden's lead.

I truly hope that in some simple way, the families of 9/11 have found some sort of peace in the death of Bin Laden.  I hope that they feel vindicated that our country killed the man that lead the terrorist plot on 9/11.  I hope that our leaders use the knowledge and intelligence to continue to rid our world of more hate mongers and terrorists, but I just don't know how that will happen.

We need to focus our attention on OUR country and what we can do to build THIS country from the inside out.  We need to pull our billion-dollar-a-month war budget and strengthen from within...now.  We need to recognize that our country isn't a mess because of Osama Bin Laden or any of his terrorist friends.  We need to recognize that although 3,500 people died on 9/11, thousands more die every day from not having food, not having health care and not having the help that they need.

We need to stop looking across the ocean to answer our problems and recognize that our problems are not the Wicked Witch, but that our problems and the answers to those problems, have been with US all along.  We need to stop throwing water on our problems and start looking to America to find not only the REAL problems, but also the REAL solutions. Terrorism is not a problem.  Terrorism is a fear, a scare tactic and something that will NEVER go away.  So lets stop focusing all our money and effort and children on a "problem" that is such a waist of lives and money and energy.

America will be destroyed not by a man in a cave, or a person with a bomb in their shoes.  America will be destroyed by not looking itself in the mirror and saying those famous words..."There's no place like home."  Now it's time to fix, well.... home.
