The Impending Arrival of the Inevitable Visitor
As I move closer to my due date (to have this baby) it amazes me how completely hyper focused I am...on MYSELF. I think about myself and my current "condition" pretty much all day long. And most recently I have noticed a pattern of eating and sleeping, and pretty much nothing else.
I am constantly waiting for the "signs" that the baby is one it's way. I am constantly wondering, "was that a contraction or my 10 pound bundle of joy changing positions?"
Oh, and then there is the family baby watch. Jim is like a cat on a hot tin roof. I can't even grimace without him panicking. And I grimace a lot. Then there is my mom who plans to get in her car and drive here the minute we call and tell her "baby's coming." She is just sitting in her heals waiting for the impending phone call.
Then there is Cody and Skylar sitting patiently by their cell phones waiting for the text or call, while sitting in school, that mom is on her way to have the baby.
We are all waiting. We are all wondering exactly when this baby will decide it is time to make the grand entrance into this world.
After all the chaos I told Jim they will probably have to induce me around the 4th of July...and I am due June 7th. Kidding, but after all the anticipation I can see that happening.
So I have washed, folded, cleaned, organized and everything one can do to get ready to have a baby and NOTHING? No baby? Come on already!! I got nothing else to organize!! AND I AM NOT GOING TO START ON THE GARAGE, I HAVE MY LIMITS HERE!
So we will wait. We will shave our legs everyday waiting for the moment when shaved legs become important (like in the delivery room). We will straighten our hair so that I don't look like Cheryl Tiegs on crack in all the baby and mommy pictures in the hospital, and I will continue to wonder if *THAT* was my water that just broke or just a simple sneeze?!
