Gadhafi's son an Intern in the U.S....WHAT?!

I normally do not get to involved with politics, but when I heard about Gadhafi's youngest son being involved in an internship program in the United States, I was completely amazed.  Have we learned nothing from the terrorists taking flight lessons in Michigan months before 9/11?

My mom and step-dad recently went to Canada for an Anniversary weekend.  They went there for a short weekend to gamble, eat and relax.  On their way back into the United States they were detained for inspection and questioning.  These are people that both work in the U.S., both have lived in the U.S. their entire life, were driving a car registered in the U.S. and do not have parents who are war mongers.

See below:

Washington (CNN) -- Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's youngest son, who runs the country's elite special forces for his father's regime, was on an internship program in the United States when public unrest exploded in Libya last month.

Khamis Gadhafi abruptly cut off his visit and returned to Libya, where he has led the 32nd Reinforced Brigade, known at the Khamis Brigade, in its brutal suppression of rebel forces.

The brigade's headquarters was the target of six Tomahawk missiles overnight, according to Vice Adm. William Gortney of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Gortney described the brigade as "one of the most active in terms of attacking innocent people."

The company that was hosting the internship's, senior vice president said "We were aware of the student's family relationship, but we were not informed of any military connection whatsoever,"  HUH??? You think Gadhafi is just raising nice young men who love the world and the United States?

The month-long internship was sponsored by AECOM, a global engineering and design company based in Los Angeles, and with the assistance of the State Department.  The State Department?

Since 2008, AECOM has been involved in a multi billion-dollar initiative with Libya to modernize the country's infrastructure. The company withdrew all its expatriate employees and their families from Libya earlier this month. The joint project to train Libyan engineers to build and maintain homes, roads and water systems is on hold. Ya think! Yeah, perhaps while we are bombing their country with BILLIONS of dollars of our missiles we should put building homes and streets on hold.

Is it just me or does it seem a little "off" that we have a company "hosting" Moammar Gadhafi's youngest son as an intern and they didn't have any idea that this "kid" let the 32nd Reinforced Brigade? Aren't we spending millions of dollars on Intel for Homeland Security?

Everyday thousands of travelers are all but strip searched at the airport, mothers are forced to open and all but drink their own breast milk and children are zapped with x-rays to get on a plane to go visit grandma and Gadhafi's son is here learning "stuff" to help Libya.  Am I missing something here?

We learned of the Bush family ties to al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden's family.  We know that on 9/11 nobody was allowed to enter, let alone fly in a plane on 9/11, but all of bin Laden's family in the United States was put on a plane on 9/11 and was allowed to leave the U.S.  How was that possible?

I think we need to look at what is hype to make us "feel" safe, (x-ray machines and body searches at the airport) and what our government is doing that is actually inviting the enemy into our lives.  History has proven over and over again that our government makes deals, relationships and then looks into the TV camera and acts surprised when these terrorists use our own guns against us.

We need to stop smiling at the insurmountable laws and sanctions being passed against our own people and start looking at the relationships that our government, and the PEOPLE and FAMILIES we are voting into office.  The millionaires and oil tycoons that are in a position to run for office have ties, they have relationships and they have enemies.

I understand that a person's "kid" is not the person i.e. Gadhafi's kid is not him, BUT that being said, I think we need to look a little deeper into a person's life, history and upbringing before we welcome them over to the U.S. to learn.  I mean let's be honest people, most apples don't fall far from the tree, and Gadhafi's son is no exception!
