Teacher is fired for Sex Talk? Chime in!!

Teacher, 30, suspended after revealing she used to be a stripper and prostitute

A 30-year-old woman has been suspended from teaching after she revealed her former life as a stripper and prostitute.
Melissa Petro, who earns $61,000 a year (£38,500) teaching art in a New York school, went public about her sexcapades.
Calling herself a 'former sex worker', she posted online accounts of her adventures in Mexico and London.

Can we as a society "deal" with a person, with a past like this, teaching our children? Where do we draw the line?

She was fired for comparing teaching art to "the other night when she was having sex with her boyfriend." .....REALLY!?!?! She thought she was being funny apparently? HUH?

She WAS a stripper and prostitute, ok, I can, sort of, deal with that, everyone has their past. But as you can see in the video, she has dragged that mentality with her into her current thoughts, feelings, and language. She thinks nothing of using the comparison between sex with "her boyfriend last night" to teaching art... Are you kidding me with this.

On The View today, Whoopie Goldberg said that the fact that the woman was fired was a shame. UH, WHAT!?! Goldberg said that if the teacher was really "that bad" we would have heard about her before this. I'm sorry, but that isn't entirely the case.

I remember being in middle school and I had a math teacher that got drunk during school and danced on the heaters. She would also SIT on the heater for LONGGG periods of time, and move her skirt around....if you know what I'm saying...NEVER DID I TELL MY MOM?! Nor did any of the other kids, she is probably still teaching there!!!

This teacher here, got busted.  This can't be something new for this teacher? I have heard it said before of criminals, if they got caught this time, it is most likely the case, that this is far from the first crime they have committed.

When is a teacher over the line? Cody had a football coach, (since fired from his teaching job for smoking pot!!) who would talk in a sexual tone to the players about how to execute running plays. I couldn't believe it! Where do these adults get off talking to someone else's child about sex?

Everyone has a past, I have a past, we all have the things in our life that makes us who we are, the good and the bad. The difference is whether or not we learn from these things and move on. Whether or not we have evolved into a mature adult capable of separating our personal life, from our professional life.

Do you think she should have been fired? Do you know if adults around your children talk about sex like this? Would your children tell you?

Thanks for reading. Make sure and check out other great stories in the Archives!
